Callie has been singing for as long as she can remember.  While she learned how to play simple hymns, she also practiced singing soprano, alto, and even tenor parts to her favorite songs. The thought that she should stick to only a limited range never occurred to her.  Callie prefers to sing ballads, torch songs, big band standards, and 50's or 60's soft rock in a low, contralto voice.

Callie has retired after teaching in public school for over 32 years and does "the band thing" as a "rest and relaxation".  A fan who frequents the band's appearances, says that he plays the CD after turning out the lights because "Callie's voice smoothes out the wrinkles in my soul" and makes for a better night's sleep.
