John
has been a musician since he began playing trumpet in the
elementary school band in Cuthbert, GA. John continued
playing in the high school band and won honors along the
way. He began playing in rock and roll bands early in
high school and continued throughout two college careers
while he earned a bachelor's degree and then a master's
degree in music. He "retired" from rock and
roll bands in his late thirties. When the "music bug" bit again, John was well into his forties, but that was not a drawback. Now he knew what kind of music he wanted to play, and he knew that along the way he would set up a recording studio. John and Callie often ask friends and fans what songs they want the band to play. John then arranges the music, plays it one instrument at a time into the computer, saves it as midi files and when the arrangement is finished, the playback sounds like a 17 piece orchestra. The arrangement is made to sound like an intimate 4 piece combo or a raucous R&R band from the late 60's. John's years of experience and two degrees in music make a difference in the completeness of the arrangements. |
